Cynthia’s Bio P.3

Her priciest piece was a beautifully matched necklace of unheated Sri Lankan sapphires that she worked on for five years. “But,” she explains, “the principles I use in designing jewelry are applicable to other mediums and price points – I had a successful show on QVC for several years.”

Cynthia is often described as a sparkler, with enthusiasm not only for gems and jewelry, but also for people. She is as comfortable in a remote gem mine as she is at a Park Avenue salon or a Dairy Queen. She is a warm, encouraging listener. After a conversation with her, people have a whole different way of thinking about gems, jewelry, beauty and adornment. The foundation of her enthusiasm is a bright mosaic of scientific knowledge and understanding of gemstones, love of color and beauty, and an expert eye for both gems and style.

Not only an artist and scientist, Cynthia also understands beauty and style. A special area of interest is communicating her passion for gemstones to guide other women to the pleasure of expressing their unique beauty and strength through dress and ornamentation. Her jewelry designs, therefore, focus on the life-affirming properties of color. It’s no accident, Cynthia says, that light and color join in stained glass windows to inspire and lift the soul. She strives to do the same with jewelry—layering colors and textures, often mixing different colors of metals and gems in one piece: “My jewelry,” she says, “becomes a “color poem” worn on the skin.”

In sum, Cynthia has turned her curiosity and calling into a successful career, becoming a foremost authority on the science, beauty and style of gems and gemstone jewelry. Cynthia chose “Inherit the Earth” as her company’s slogan because it speaks to the fundamental power of gems. In carrying the history of the earth and the power of light, gemstones transfer that power to those who hold or wear them. Cynthia’s work allows clients to hold, wear and experience that history and power. Then, to pass it on through the generations in timeless gems and jewelry creations.
