About Cynthia
Cynthia Renée Marcusson began as a colored gem-mine geologist before founding Cynthia Renée, Inc. in 1990—one of the few colored gem wholesale companies owned and operated by a woman.
Cynthia revolutionized jewelry retailing by introducing concepts that were ahead of their time, such as cultivating collector culture among jewelers and emphasizing style and wardrobing for the emerging market of female self-purchasers. She developed The Color Palette System™, a groundbreaking approach to understanding color and personal expression through gemstones. Through her sales training and innovative “infotainment” shows, she brought the awe and wonder of colored gems to life, translating their beauty and rarity into a language of desire and self-expression.
Recognized as an industry leader, Cynthia is a multiple Spectrum and MJSA design award-winner and has served five terms on the AGTA board. Her work continues to shape how we perceive and connect with jewelry as a profound medium for authenticity, fulfillment, and self-expression.
