Spectrum award-winner for “Best in Palladium and Color,“ The Owl Queen” brooch/pendant features a great horned owl hand-carved in petrified palm wood; her crown of 950 palladium is accented by 0.15 carats of diamonds and hand granulation.The Owl Queen surveys her world perched on a 42.57 carat natural, green Tourmaline crystal “fence post” complete with hand-made stainless steel “barb wire.”

The AGTA Spectrum Award is the Oscars of the gem and jewelry world.  It is also included in the Tucson Gem and Mineral Museum’s ground-breaking exhibit of gems, minerals and jewelry curated to engage the public with the beauty, science, history and geography of gemstones.
